I-BOP / Kelly valve
About the product
The I-BOP, also known as the Kelly Valve, is a high-pressure valve used as an emergency shut-off in the drill string. In the event of overpressure or kick, the Kelly Valve can be closed manually to isolate the column and prevent uncontrolled outflow.
Deep Drill supplies reliable I-BOPs in various pressure classes, sizes and thread types. Our valves are suitable for use in geothermal energy, oil and gas drilling, salt caverns and other high-pressure applications.
Available for hire and sale, supplied with test reports and optional test recordings for compliance or audit purposes.

FAQ section.
What is the difference between an upper and lower Kelly Valve?
An upper valve is placed above the kelly and serves as an emergency shut-off valve. A lower valve is placed at the bottom and provides complete closure of the string in the event of overpressure or blowout situations.
Are I-BOPs available for hire and sale?
Yes. They are available for short-term use via rental or as a permanent extension of your drill string via sale.
For what types of projects can these products be used?
Kelly Valves are used in geothermal energy, oil and gas drilling, salt extraction and injection wells such as CO2storage, wherever pressure control is crucial.
What documentation is included?
You will receive a test certificate, inspection report and serial number registration.
Does a Kelly Valve need to be tested or maintained regularly?
Yes. Periodic inspection is essential for reliable shut-off. We recommend regularly testing Kelly Valves for shut-off pressure, especially after prolonged storage or intensive use.
